Here are corrections and/or clarifications to the published book
Although there are several typing errors for one looking for them, the author wants especially to correct the following. Click on link below to see the correction for each.

The sentence starting on the fourth line on top of page xxii reads:
Did this same cosmology serve as justification for ritual practices important to early literate societies even as it did for Sumer, Egypt, and India?
It should read:
Did this same cosmology serve as justification for ritual practices important to all early hierarchical societies even as it did for Sumer, Egypt, and India
The sentence starting on the third line of page 183 reads:
However, it has yet to recognize that not only inequalities within a complex egalitarian society but also inequalities within the simplest of egalitarian societies need to be reconciled within a cosmology.
It should read:
However, it has yet to recognize that not only inequalities within a complex hierarchical society are justified by cosmology but also inequalities within the simplest of egalitarian societies need to be reconciled within a cosmology.
